FAQ

What is CBD?

CBD, also known as cannabidiol, is a naturally occurring compound found in the cannabis plant. Unlike it’s better-known and slightly scandalous sister, THC, CBD will not (we repeat, NOT) get you high. CBD is similar to the endocannabinoid chemical messengers found in our own bodies. Taking CBD can help jump start the messages our bodies’ own endocannabinoid system sends to our cells. A therapeutic “whisper down the lane”, if you will. Though there is still a lot of research to be done on CBD, large numbers of people have found that it helps naturally reduce inflammation, ease stress and anxiety, and act as a powerful antioxidant.

Why consume CBD, or use it in Skincare?

Many issues that we have with our skin are linked to inflammation. And you know what’s an excellent anti-inflammatory agent? You guessed it, CBD. It can also help reduce redness and irritation, balance oil production, and is an excellent moisturizer. Something we really love about CBD is the glow that you get after using it. A natural effervescence that comes from treating your skin and body with a little kindness. We think you’ll find it just as sweet as we do.

What type of CBD should I use?

CBD can come in several forms (isolate, broad spectrum, full spectrum). The type of CBD we use in our products is organically grown, full spectrum, CO2 extracted (like good olive oil!), and purified to ensure you are getting CBD, with trace amounts of the other beneficial compounds. We use full spectrum because this type uses the whole plant, and has more therapeutic benefits than any other form, but you may see several terms used in ingredient labeling for this type of CBD (shout out to the lawyers!). We use the term “full spectrum industrial hemp extract” in our ingredient list. Our CBD always contains less than .3% TCH, a trace amount that does not have any intoxicating effects.

Why is it important to only use organically grown CBD?

Hemp, the plant that our CBD is derived from, takes in CO2 from the atmosphere and detoxifies the soil it is grown in. Essentially, it absorbs everything from its environment, the good and the not-so good. So when using products derived from this lovely plant, it’s incredibly important that it hasn’t had contact with nasty chemicals and pesticides. At Sweet and Kind, we promise to give you only the most pure, clean, and effective ingredients that we can, while preserving the integrity of the active ingredients that make our products so luxuriously effective.

How Pure is Sweet + Kind’s CBD Oil?

Very. In fact, we have our CBD Oil tested for its purity by a third party lab to ensure you are only getting the best possible product. Our CBD is federally legal under Section 7606 in the 2014 Farm Bill (with provisions made in 2018).

What’s in a Name?

Why did we name ourselves Sweet and Kind? The answer is simple- we want our name to be our promise to you. We believe in using only the best ingredients and like to be open and honest with our customers about what our products do and where the ingredients come from. We believe kindness radiates outward. Self-care is something we all can make time for, whether it’s getting a well-earned massage, or making sure you have a few minutes to yourself every morning to apply and luxuriate in your moisturizer. We think that taking care of *you* is the key to a sweeter life.

When do Sweet + Kind Products Expire?

This stuff works! So, to ensure the efficacy of our active ingredients, we recommend you use our skin care products within one year, and our CBD supplements within 6 months.

What if I don’t like the product? (wait…what!?)

We find that CBD is extremely beneficial, and think that everyone could give it a try, and be better for it. If you are sweet enough to purchase our products, we will kindly refund all or part of your money if you find it’s not for you. Please find out more about our refund policy here.
